YOGA with Julie

ABOUT

Julie Ela Grace has been practicing yoga since 2004. Her practice began when she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at the age of nineteen and she realized a disconnect existed between her mind, body and spirit. Her passion and commitment to yoga deepened with her discovery of Kripalu yoga, a style that emphasizes self-inquiry and nurturing compassion towards oneself and others. With over a decade of teaching experience, Julie has inspired a global community, evidenced by her 30,000 followers on Insight Timer. Her popular five-minute morning gratitude meditation on the app has resonated with many, garnering nearly 2 million plays.

Julie's expertise in yoga is rooted in her comprehensive training with esteemed instructors Devarshi Steven Hartman, Megha Nancy Buttenheim, and Jovinna Chan at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Her academic pursuits have also enriched her approach, with a BA from Alma College and a Master's degree in Literature and Medicine from King's College London. Beyond yoga, Julie is a multifaceted individual - a writer, painter, and an undergraduate literature instructor.

At the core of Julie's teaching philosophy is a desire to infuse love and grace into her classes, creating an environment where students feel supported and empowered. Her unique blend of personal experience, deep knowledge, and a compassionate approach makes her a guide for those seeking balance and wellbeing.
